PUBLIC NOTICE - Commercial Properties Not Included in New Blue Box Program

Effective October 1, 2025, Ontario’s Blue Box recycling system will transition to a new model managed by Circular Materials under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016 and the Blue Box Regulation. This program applies only to residential properties; commercial, industrial, and institutional (IC&I) properties have never been eligible for municipal recycling collection, and this remains unchanged.

Please be advised that the Town of Kirkland Lake has depleted its inventory of municipal blue recycling bins. Effective October 1, 2025, the responsibility for providing new recycling bins will transition to GFL Environmental.

Connecting Link Project Update (August 25, 2025)

The Town of Kirkland Lake would like to inform residents that while the Connecting Link project was originally scheduled to begin today, the contractor has encountered scheduling challenges on other projects. As a result, mobilization for the Connecting Link work is now planned for September 8.
