Under Part VI.1 of the
Municipal Act, 2001 , the Mayor has the special power under Section 284.3 of the Act, to propose a budget for The Corporation of the Town of Kirkland Lake (2026 Town Budget) and provide it to Council for consideration.
On May 29, 2025, Mayor Stacy Wight exercised this power with her directive to staff.
