The Timiskaming District and Area municipalities invite applications from citizens interested in an appointment to the following Committee of Council:


Timiskaming District and area municipalities are seeking to appoint three (3) citizens for a term starting no later than October 1, 2022 to expire November 14, 2026 to represent all participating municipalities.

The Timiskaming District Joint Compliance Audit Committee receives and makes decisions on applications for compliance audits of candidates' and registered third party advertisers’ 2022 municipal election campaign finances and any by-election campaign finances during the 2022-2026 Term of Office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: considering the compliance audit application and decide whether it should be granted or rejected; appointing an auditor to conduct a compliance audit of the candidate’s/registered third party advertiser’s election campaign finances; reviewing the auditor’s report within 10 days of receipt and deciding whether legal proceedings should be commenced; and making recommendations to the Council where the audit request originated.

A rate of $150 per meeting per appointee plus mileage at $0.50 per kilometre will be provided.
